4th annual Groove In The Park

H2Go and George FM are proud to present the 4th annual Groove In The Park this Waitangi Day, Monday February the 6th, 1pm -7pm

Regularly attracting in excess of 20,000 people to a lush corner of the Auckland Domain, this year's event promises to be a day of music, sunshine, and general good times for the whole family.

Salmonella Dub, thirteen-year veterans of New Zealand Dub, Drum and Bass, and Roots music, make their H2Go Groove in the Park debut this year. Expect a huge mid-afternoon set from the group who consistently define summer in New Zealand with their uniquely Kiwi sound.

DJ/Producer Dick 'Magik' Johnson is a man with an impressive musical CV, beginning in the heady acid house days at legendary Manchester club the Hacienda, through to today where the British expat now calls New Zealand home - Groove In The Park welcomes him with open arms. Also expect a little bit of everything from DJ Jason Eli with live musicians, and a set from the incomparable DJ Sam Hill.

Not forgetting a mix of traditional and contemporary Kapa Haka from a premier Auckland group and, as always, George FM's favourite son Peter Urlich takes the stage later in the day. Together with DJ extraordinaire Bevan Keys they will bring the famous Nice 'n Urlich act to life for a good old-fashioned boogie to end the afternoon.

And it's not just about the music - a whole bunch of stallholders are expected for the Groove In The Park markets, selling everything from food to those trinkets you never knew you needed.

Don't forget your sunscreen, and of course a picnic basket and rug, as there's no shortage of choice spots to take a load off.

George FM Programme Director Thane Kirby - who will also be MCing on the day - welcomes one and all. "Welcome one and all," he says.
