March 17, 2006

Leading New Zealand designers to feature in St Margaret's College - Christ's College Catwalk fashion event

The Autumn – winter 2006 collections of 15 leading New Zealand fashion designers and labels will feature in the
glitzy St Margaret's College and Christ's College On the Catwalk fashion event next week.

Designers taking part include Trelise Cooper, Barbara Lee, Zambesi, Elle MacPherson, Intimates Caroline Moore, Huffer, Untouched World, Annah Stretton, Federation, Marilyn Seyb, Andrea Moore, Rodd and Gunn, Line 7, Pumpkin Patch and The Hat Shop.

The two schools have worked together successfully on other major fundraising events in the past.

Wendy Mayson, St Margaret's development director, said students from both schools were involved as models, dancers and musicians.

``While it is a senior school production, a number of primary girls from St Margaret's and boys from Medbury School will be modelling the Pumpkin Patch range,'' she said.

Derek Banks, Christ's College development officer, said Lexus of Christchurch were the naming sponsors of the event.

Sutherland Todd Hairdressing will be doing the hair-styling, FACE Stockholm will look after the make-up and The Shoe Connection will provide shoes. Others involved include Lindauer and 420 Volcanic Water, who will assist with the refreshments.

A total of 150 outfits from 15 fashion designers promises to provide a glittering evening.

St Margaret's share of the funds raised will go towards the development of a new art centre and music school.

More than 1200 people are expected to see the spectacular show, also featuring music, drama and dance at Christ's College on March 22 and 23.

On the Catwalk will be held at Christ's College at 8pm on March22 and 23.
