Cadbury Dream Model Search Hits Auckland

New Zealand’s biggest model search hits Auckland next weekend, looking for local girls with ‘X’ factor.

Open to young women aged between 14 and 25, the Cadbury Dream Model Search 2006 will be at Westfield St Lukes next Sunday 14 May from 12pm to 2pm.

Competition organiser and Director of Nova Models, Talent & Actors, Caroline Barley, says she and co-judge international placement manager Michael Hooker will be looking for gorgeous, confident, sophisticated young women who are contenders for a dream career in modelling.

“We’re looking for ‘X factor’, that special something, and that can come in so many shapes and sizes. A lot depends on personality and suitability to the market, both in New Zealand and internationally. A unique look is also key.

“Not all models are six foot tall and a size eight. So even if you think you’re not tall or slim enough, come along anyway as you never know,” says Caroline.

The audition is an opportunity to meet with hopefuls, have a chat and take a photo. “There’s no catwalk, walking or parade involved. So no need to be nervous!”

The nationwide search will visit eight centres throughout May, with 12 finalists selected to compete in the July 6 final at the Transmission Room in Auckland. The finalists will spend four nights in Auckland preparing for the event, with accommodation provided by the Airedale Hotel.

The overall winner will have their modelling career launched in New Zealand by Nova Models, Talent & Actors, and will be flown to Sydney, all-expenses paid, to meet with top modeling agency Vivien’s Model Management for a test shoot with a top Australian fashion photographer.

The winner will also receive Cadbury Dream chocolates and flowers, a $1000 Jeans West wardrobe, a $500 Schwarzkopf gift basket, and a $1000 scholarship for future travel with international model placement agency Michael Hooker International.

Girls must be aged between 14 and 25 as of July 6, 2006 to be eligible.

To enter, girls must fill out an entry form and bring it to the audition along with three snapshots of themselves. Entry forms are available from supermarkets wherever Cadbury Dream is sold, in the April and May issues of Cleo magazine, at Jeans West stores nationwide, from The Edge Roadrunners, and online at www.nova-models.co.nz.

Anyone living outside of an audition location can fill out the entry form and send it with three photos to: Cadbury Dream Model Search, PO Box 68-118, Newton, Auckland before Friday 26 May 2006.

Cadbury Dream Model Search is proudly sponsored by Cadbury Dream, Nova Models, Talent & Actors, The Edge radio station, Jeans West and Schwarzkopf.

The Sunday 14 May audition will be held at Westfield St Lukes, Centre Court, St Lukes Road, Auckland. For those that can’t make it to St Lukes, a second Auckland audition will be held at Botany Town Centre on Saturday 27 May.
