NZ Secondary Schools Netball team Wins Final

The NZ Secondary Schools netball team continued their winning form when they beat their Australian counterparts 30-21 in the final of the International Schoolgirls Netball Challenge in Adelaide today. The NZ Secondary Schools Netball Team was unbeaten throughout the competition.

NZ Secondary Schools Coach Annette Pearce said she was delighted with her team’s performance.

“The girls have come together from all around New Zealand to play in this team and combined so well, it was as if they had played together all season. Every player had done a great deal of work before the tour, and was deserving of the win,” she said.

The Aotearoa Maori Secondary Schools team placed third in the competition.

The players return to New Zealand on Saturday. Paula Griffin (The Trusts Diamonds), Charlotte Kight (More FM Flyers) and Hayley Croft (Ascot Park Hotel Southern Sting) will return to their National Bank Cup team for Round 7 of the competition.
