Eat the Youth

19 June 2006

Kia ora BAT mates,

Young and Hungry started off with a bang on Friday night, with the wine and positive comments about the shows flowing freely. Get down here before next Saturday to discover why there is such a buzz around the shows this year!

Have a look down below for more on the three little beauties, and coming BATS attractions.

And I'd like to introduce one of BATS' favourite websites to you - reviewer John Smythe has created a gem of a site for all things theatre in New Zealand. Its got reviews, coming attractions, a forum and is a cracker read - so have a look at www.theatreview.org.nz . I'd bookmark it if I were you, because it changes constantly!

Arohanui,
BATSxxxx

Complete with Monopoly in a womderfully comic life imitating art scenario - I reckon its worth it for that scene alone...

8pm
Generator by Rochelle Bright
Five years ago today, Pauly and his friends celebrated his 16th birthday with a party in the old hay shed on the back of his parent's farm. Lottie disappeared that night and was never seen again, and tonight, the same group of five friends come together, for the first time since that fate filled party, to celebrate Pauly's 21st. All of their lives have changed, but the guilt and suspicion still remain. By the end of tonight they will all know the truth!

A bit thriller, a bit mystery, Laurie Atkinson from the Dominion Post liked its "...clearly drawn characters and finely etched scenes"... The set is great too.

Butt Ugly by Thomas Sainsbury
Revenge of the Nerds meets Napoleon Dynamite, with a twist of Dr Suess, Butt Ugly is a celebration of the underdog.

Join ringleader Claudia and her band of cartoon-character freaks in their attempt to take on the injustices of the world and make everyone realise once and for all just how bloody awful it is to be BUTT UGLY.
Plus it has an awesomely wacky band which rocks out in the most cartoon of ways, brilliant to watch!
