NZ IDOL’s youngest contestant leaves the show
In tonight’s live NZ IDOL results show (at 8pm on TV2), contestant Ashlee Fisher (16 years from Hamilton) was the second person to be eliminated from the NZ IDOL Top 10.
In a voting showdown Ashlee went head-to-head with South Island’s Kali Kopae (21 years from Christchurch). While they sang for their place in the competition, viewers at home voted for the contestant they most wanted to stay.
Ashlee’s song this week was 4 Ever by The Veronicas. Previously she has sung Son Of A Preacherman by Dusty Springfield in the Soul special, I Turn To You by Christina Aguilera at the regional piano round in Christchurch and in the theatre round she sang Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross
Eliminated Idol, Ashlee Fisher wanted to thank all the public that voted for her.
“At 16 years of age this is an experience that I will never forget. All of the Idol’s remaining are amazing and I wish them all the best in the coming weeks”said Ashlee, who now heads back to school.
The remaining NZ Top 10 contestants are: Aroha Robinson from Mt Maunganui, Beck Wright from Auckland, Ben Hazelwood from Wellington, Clinton Randell from Auckland, Indira Moala from Auckland, Kali Kopae from Christchurch, Matt Saunoa from Levin and Toni Baird from Wellington.
Next week’s NZ IDOL theme is Country. Don’t miss the next instalment of NZ IDOL on Sunday at 7.30pm on TV2.
