Lurking in the depths of the forbidden forest is the rich and sumptuous Winter 2007 range entitled Hunter Gatherer, by Charmaine Reveley. The collection reflects an old world beauty through subtle embellishments, clever finishing, and flattering cuts.

Prints are a key element of the collection with camouflage foliage creeping across frocks and an untamed camellia growing over merino jumpers.

Intricate detailing was worked into pieces with subtle and fine embroidery and rich tapestry-inspired prints. A favourite was a delightfully tailored floral coat in a ‘50s style wallpaper print.

The colour palette consisted mainly of black, primary red, and a touch of navy, with other tones interspersed through the detailing and “old world” influences. Attention was paid to the neckline of garments with ruching, and signature prints creating understated elegance.

Frocks flowed beautifully in soft cotton, chiffon, and velvet. Knitwear was strong with cute cardigans boasting large buttons and contrasting knits.

Reveley’s collection has something for everyone; cuts are flattering in shape and her pieces have a fresh sense of individuality and wearability.
