TE TEPU – Tuesday October 3 at 8.00 PM
Premiere of Maori Television’s new weekly current affairs programme hosted by Waihoroi Shortland. Kaumatua (elders) table their views on local, national and international news and current affairs issues. Repeated on Sunday at 6.00 PM.

DEADLINE –Tuesday October 3 at 8.30 PM
Maori Television’s International Documentary slot, Pakipumeka o te Ao, tackles the volatile topic of the American capital punishment system. In the fall of 2002, Illinois Governor George Ryan faces shocking findings about flaws in the state’s capital punishment system.

KO WHANGANUI TE AWA – Wednesday October 4 at 8.30 PM
Screening in Maori Television’s New Zealand Documentary slot, Pakipumeka Aotearoa – a group of Maori mental health consumers search for the answers to their recovery which leads them from their beloved awa (river) to the Arizona Desert and back again.

HE RARANGA KORERO – Wednesday October 4 at 10.00 PM
Screening in Maori Television’s archival documentary slot, Koputu Taonga, LOOKOUT: NEW STREETS FA’A SAMOA was produced in 1982 and narrated by Albert Wendt who talks about the Samoan community and where he grew up. Features a present-day studio interview with Oscar Kightley.

COAST – Thursday October 5 at 9.30 PM
Maori Television’s urban music show ends the year with a bang! Tonight’s final features pumping performances from top musicians including chart-topping reggae group Katchafire, up-and-coming hip hop artist PNC and acclaimed singer-songwriter Anika Moa.

BOIL UP – Thursday October 5 at 10.30 PM
Rugby league fans can’t afford to miss the finale of Maori Television’s fast and funny sports review show. Hosted by the MONDAY NIGHT LEAGUE crew of Tawera Nikau, Ritchie Barnett and Te Arahi Maipi, the half-hour show wraps up a spectacular season of league.

TOA ANGA WHATI MAORI – Friday October 6 at 8.00 PM
The premiere of Maori Television’s sports show which aims to challenge perceptions about disabled sportspeople. Profiles their support networks as well as the talented and dedicated health professionals who help these athletes reach their goals.

SHAMAN – Sunday October 8 at 9.00 PM
Screening in Maori Television’s Sunday Feature slot, Kiriata Ratapu – Dimitri, a clueless, city-bred escapee from a Siberian labour camp, is entrusted with the amulets of a shaman when the latter is gunned down during their attempted break-out.
