Paws for a Cause

A calendar featuring the hottest and most high-profile New Zealand male celebrities, such as Frank Bunce, Rodney Hide, Brendon Pongia and Iain Stables, together with their feline companions is being launched on the 2nd of October to raise money for Auckland’s stray and unwanted cats.

Feline Charity, Auckland Cat Rescue, have put together the calendar with generous sponsorship from Purina Friskies, and the help of talented Auckland photographer, Chris Rollins.

The thirteen celebrities hail from the rugby field to the small screen, and have all donated their time to help raise funds and to bring about greater public awareness of feline welfare. All of the celebrities involved in the calendar have strong beliefs about animal welfare. Some have a greater affinity with them than others - Iain Stables: “The only woman I can rely on has four legs and a tail” Established in April 2005, Auckland Cat Rescue and has grown significantly over the past 18 months and to date has rehabilitated and rehomed over 285 cats and kittens that may have otherwise died of starvation and disease.

The organisation is run by seven females in their twenties and thirties, who pride themselves on having a fresh and innovative approach, with a strong focus on feline welfare and public education.
