Cocktails and Carols to support an Auckland Icon
Cocktails and Carols to support an Auckland Icon
Corporates, Christmas-lovers and caring Aucklanders are invited to celebrate the advent of the festive season on Friday 10 November at the Christmas-in-the-City Gala Ball; a quintessential Christmas experience in the grandeur of St-Matthew-in-the-City church.
Master of Ceremony John Campbell will guide guests through an elegant evening of Christmas festivity, including a premium three course dining experience, provided by SKYCITY. The event includes an exclusive charity auction, with items donated by some of Auckland’s finest institutions. This will be followed by a live band and dancing ‘til midnight.
Proceeds raised by the ball will contribute to the final stage of the church’s Centenary Restoration Project. Over the past 10 years a significant amount of restoration work has been undertaken for St Matthew-in-the-City and the relocation and restoration of the Father Willis Organ and St Thomas’ Chapel will complete the vision for the hundred-year-old church.
Reverend Glynn Cardy, vicar of the St Matthew’s parish, says the restoration project will ensure that the church remains an important landmark in the life of Auckland City.
“We are looking forward to the completion of our restoration project and we invite all Aucklanders to come on board and secure the future of this beautiful old building,” says Revd Cardy.
Tickets are available at $180 per person, or $1750 for a table of ten. This is a wonderful opportunity to host your clients and staff at a gala ball before the Christmas rush, but tables are limited.
