Farming Mayhem And Funny Moments
Farming Mayhem And Funny Moments
The tropical island of Tikorangi is in crisis. Its number one industry – selling bird droppings to the Europeans – has, well, dropped off.
Without a source of income, the island’s king must send a representative to neighbouring Aotearoa to investigate other farming ideas.
The man chosen for this important mission is Mana – played by talented actor Mana Epiha (Ngapuhi) in Maori Television’s all-new funny farming show TAIWHENUA (premieres on Sunday November 26 at 6.00 PM).
During his hikoi around the motu, Mana ends up matchmaking for Alpacas, having a heart-to-heart with hens, feeling amorous on oysters and performing TV’s first prawn haka.
Every moment is captured by his timid cousin on camera so Mana can take the ideas back to his King and the people of Tikorangi.
“Poor Mana tries so hard to impress but it usually goes wrong,” says Epiha, who has a more serious side as a well-known TV presenter. “When he tried the oysters, he found the beautiful wahine irresistible, the cows splattered him with muck, and even though he was doing the Alpacas a favour as a matchmaker, he got spat on.
“But Mana is determined to get down and dirty, and investigate all kinds of agriculture to save his island, no matter what!”
Join Mana for farming mayhem and funny moments when TAIWHENUA premieres on Maori Television on Sunday November 26 at 6.00 PM.
