Aladdin The Pantomime Returns

Roger Hall’s Aladdin The Pantomime

Returns For The Holiday Season

Capture the magic of theatre this Holiday season – and treat the family to a great night out!

Dust off your magic carpet and whisk away to the vibrant, richly coloured world of the Arabian Bazaar with Roger Hall’s fabulous pantomime, Aladdin, that returns to Circa Theatre, opening 3rd January and running until 3rd February 2007.

Aladdin, which stars the world’s best-known Pantomime Dame, tells the story of Widow Twankey who, with her son Aladdin, runs a laundry in a country ruled by the Sultan and his beautiful daughter, Jasmin.

With its evil villain, the wicked Abanazar (Hiss! Boo!), amazing Genie of the lamp, hilarious laundry assistants, Hankey and Pankey, lovelorn Grand Vizier and rags-to-riches happy-ever-after ending, Aladdin is a musical, magical and spectacular evening that has all generations entertained and laughing.

A wonderful mix of the traditional and topical, spiced with loads of magic, local references, Roger Hall’s legendary wit, Michael Williams’ original score of great toe-tapping music and Paul Jenden’s amazingly creative and opulent costumes – Aladdin is great fun for everyone!

Starring a stunning line-up of hugely talented, highly energetic
and very funny Wellington actors with:

JULIAN WILSON (The Underpants, The Rivals); LYNDEE-JANE RUTHERFORD (Troy, The Rivals); TIM BARTLETT (Cinderella, Take a Chance on Me); JEFF KINGSFORD-BROWN (Dinner, Mum’s Choir); PAUL JENDEN (Cinderella, Fairy Stories); HOLLY SHANAHAN (The Underpants, The Cherry Orchard); AARON WARD (The Rivals)
