Royal Easter Show Art Competition 07
Calling all artists! You have until 28 February to get your entries in for this year’s Royal Easter Show Art Competition.
New Zealand’s largest art competition and show, the Royal Easter Show Art Competition is open to artists of all ages, amateur and professional, with thousands of dollars in prize money to be won.
There are painting, photography, ceramics/pottery, woodcraft and textile sections, with new categories for both painting and photography this year.
All entries will be on display for the duration of the Royal Easter Show, on from 5-9 April at the ASB Showgrounds. Entrants can also opt to sell their work, with the majority of entries on display also up for sale.
Continuing to grow in popularity, last year’s competition saw a record number of entries with more than 2,000 artworks on display and hundreds of artworks sold.
“There’s some great prize money and a wide range of categories open to artists of all levels of experience and expertise,” says Royal Easter Show Event Manager Robin Hill.
“And with the largest viewing audience of any art show in the country, the show provides an excellent opportunity to display and sell your work. It’s also great for networking with the art community and potential future buyers.”
Robin says art lovers and anyone looking to purchase a piece of art should make their way to the display in the Art Hall, on for the duration of the Royal Easter Show.
A demonstration area will feature painting and wood turning demonstrations, and an onsite shop will sell jewellery, glassware, pottery, quilts, sculpture, gift cards and other arts and crafts.
Anyone interested in entering should go to www.royaleastershow.co.nz for an entry form and schedule, or contact Robin Hill on 09 623 7697 or robin@asbshowgrounds.co.nz.
Entries must be received by 5pm Wednesday 28 February 2007.
