AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL

MEDIA RELEASE

Top new music talent at Tahaki Reserve

Three of New Zealand’s best up-and-coming artists are confirmed to play at Auckland City Council’s Summer Breeze in the Park concert on 10 February.

The event features Annabel Fay, Phil Madsen and Sarah Brown and is part of Auckland City Council’s free Music in the Parks concert series. The concert runs from 6pm to 9pm.

Annabel Fay is best known for her hit debut single Lovin’ You Baby which has received heavy radio airplay over the last month. Fay’s rich dulcet tone and her original brand of soul-pop and R&B, naturally stand out on the Kiwi music scene. Her recent signing to Siren Records (home of Goldenhorse and Opshop) has propelled the young singer to national fame and the talented songstress is sure to win over the Tahaki Reserve crowd.

Phil Madsen is no stranger to the stage and has been performing since the age of four. He first entered the public spotlight as the lead singer of pop band Nurture who had hits with Did You Do It All For Love and Beautiful. Madsen is a regular performer with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonic and recently supported Cher on the New Zealand leg of her farewell tour.

The Music in Parks concert line up is completed with the beautiful voice of Sarah Brown. The singer was crowned 2001 Ovation Rockshop Songwriter of the Year and last year released her self-titled album which features Rio from Trinity Roots and Pluto. Following recent performances as support for Jamie Cullum and Greg Johnson, Brown will no doubt perform to a packed crowd on 10 February.
