Human have a reputation for being one of the best live acts to ever come out of Christchurch and should not be missed. And as this will be a special occasion, the band is promising to kick up the level of entertainment by another notch or two!
Human was
conceived in a gloomy one room bed-sit in inner city
Christchurch in early 1992. Born with a love for the more
extreme styles of the musical spectrum (death metal and
grindcore to be exact), the band continues today with the
same attitude and energy that has successfully propelled it
through the last 15 years of existence. Comprised of
vocalist / guitarist Scott Spatcher-Harrison, vocalist /
bassist Vaughn Richardson, rhythm guitarist / vocalist Kezz
Brewster, and drummer Paul Harrison, Human have maintained a
die hard fanatical fan base that has expanded around the
world (thanks to the internet) and convinced the band that
music is still definitely worth playing and
enjoying.
After 15 years of musical mayhem, Human can boast an impressive back catalog of recordings, rarities, and several television appearances. Couple this with the fact that Human have NEVER compromised their underground / cult band status for the commercial success of their peers, and you've got a band that defines "independence" - with pride. "Human has never been about getting into the charts or having a hit song on the radio," says vocalist / guitarist Scott Spatcher-Harrison. "Our feet have always been firmly planted in the underground. It's just something we'll always be, and we're cool with that."
The band is planning to tour New Zealand again in 2007 as well as release a new album to follow up from their successful 2005 CD "Blood Bucket".
