Catch Katchafire at Mission Bay

19 February 2007

Catch Katchafire at Mission Bay

The shores of Mission Bay will be grooving to the reggae sounds of Katchafire at Auckland City Council’s free Sounds of Summer @ Mission Bay concert on 3 March.

The band will be getting the summer vibe going with help from Solaa and DJ Aroha at Selwyn Reserve, Mission Bay from 4pm to 7pm. Katchafire’s unique and proudly New Zealand reggae style crosses cultures and generations. From humble beginnings jamming in their garage, the group have since toured the globe, produced a platinum and a double platinum selling album and have their third album scheduled for release later this year.

DJ Aroha and urban soul/funk group Solaa complete the line up for the day, packing the reserve with music to get the crowd moving. Mission Bay is the perfect spot to enjoy some cool summer sounds with a beautiful setting and a host of great restaurants to make sure you are fully fuelled and ready to dance.

Sounds of Summer @ Mission Bay is one of 35 free concerts in the Auckland City Council Music in Parks series. Check out www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/mips for a full list of event. This concert is produced by Auckland City Council, sponsored by Red Bull and Mission Bay, The Promenade and supported by Lion Foundation, Ecover – Helping clean up and 95bFM.

Listen to 95bFM for more details. This is just one of 60 free events provided by Auckland City as part of the Ak@Play summer events programme.
