The Tweeks - You Can Listen Too Tour

The Tweeks play up-beat guitar pop influenced by Sixties English pop, Eighties Dunedin and Manchester bands, Early-nineties Britpop and grunge, and Indie bands from the US and Canada of the last 15 years. Their sound can be described as dancey-fuzzy-guitar-pop, depending on how you feel about adjectives.

The Tweeks began life under the name The Gladeyes, back in 2002. Due to a band based in Auckland possessing the exact same name, The Tweeks chose to change their name because things were just getting too confusing.

Their debut album, You Can Listen Too, is out in March 2007 on Borderline Recordings, and was recorded and mixed by the band all by themselves. Roger Seibel (Pavement, Death Cab for Cutie, Cat Power) mastered it in the USA. The first single, London Street, was a finalist in the Radio Active Handle the Jandal DIY Video awards in 2006 and can be seen on Alt TV. Recently the band were invited to play at The annual NXNE and Canada Music week festivals in Canada but could not make it due to Chris bring considered a threat to canadian national security.

The band will tour New Zealand yet again support of the release of the album starting late march and going through to late april.
