Royal NZ Ballet's 2007 Education Programme
Media Release
April 2007
Royal New Zealand Ballet's 2007 Education Programme.
Want to learn more about the
art of dance? The Royal New Zealand Ballet’s 2007
Education Programme aims to create a greater understanding
of what happens on stage and behind the curtains.
From creative dance workshops to theatre tours and ‘ballet for boys’, RNZB’s Education Manager Stacey White says the programme has something for everyone.
“We’ve designed a series of events that give greater access to all we do,” Stacey says.
“You can join us for a tour of the theatre, be mentored by one of our dancers or participate in a workshop. Our education programme is designed to be fun with the aim of getting you that much closer to the action and excitement of life at the RNZB.”
Formerly the Head of Dance at Pimlico State High School in Queensland, Stacey has an extensive background in dance education and choreography. Since joining the Company late last year, she has already run a hugely successful series of workshops at schools around the country ahead of the recent Tutus On Tour.
The RNZB’s 2007 Education Programme is our most comprehensive one ever and offers dance lovers, students and inquisitive first-timers a chance to experience something a little different.
Artistic Director Gary Harris says the programme also aims to compliment the RNZB’s productions, including the upcoming classic Swan Lake and our new end-of-year production, Cinderella.
“Whether onstage in a performance or talking to members of the audience after a show, it’s about sharing the enjoyment,” he says.
Numbers are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
