ANZAC League Test Free-To-Air On Maori Television

ANZAC League Test Free-To-Air On Maori Television

Maori Television will screen delayed coverage of the annual ANZAC rugby league test between New Zealand and Australia from Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on Friday April 20 at 10.30 PM.

The crucial clash - with commentators Tawera Nikau, Dale Husband and Te Arahi Maipi - is the opening game in the 2007 test match calendar.

The broadcast follows the channel's hugely successful coverage of last year's Tri-Nations tournament between New Zealand, Australia and Great Britain.

The home of New Zealand rugby league, Maori Television is also launching exclusive free-to-air matches from the national competition, the Bartercard Cup, every Saturday and Sunday at 2.00 PM from this weekend (April 14-15).

Maori Television executive producer of sport Bailey Mackey says the Kiwis hope to change their luck of the past few years in this annual international.

"The ANZAC league test between the Kiwis and the Kangaroos is always a big date on the rugby league calendar," says Mackey.

"In the past few years, the Aussies have had the better of us in these encounters and they are always hard to beat at home."

Catch all the action when the Kiwis take on the Kangaroos in the annual ANZAC TEST - free-to-air on the home of New Zealand rugby league, Maori Television - on Friday April 20 at 10.30 PM.
