$11 Million Up For Grabs with Lotto Powerball

$11 Million Up For Grabs with Lotto Powerball This Weekend

This Saturday could see a lucky player walk away with a Lotto Powerball win worth up to $11 million, NZ Lotteries Chief Executive Todd McLeay says.

"With Powerball worth an estimated $10 million, and Lotto First Division worth $1 million, if a lucky player is the solitary winner of Lotto and Powerball First Division on Saturday they could potentially pick up a Lotto Powerball prize worth a whopping $11 million.

"Even if our winner shares the Lotto First Division prize with other players a Lotto Powerball win this weekend will turn someone into our sixth biggest Lotto Powerball winner of all time," says Mr McLeay.

The current top six Lotto Powerball wins are:

$17,992,975 sold by Kaeo Four Square in May 2006
$15,233,068 sold by Amigos Paper Power & Lotto in Auckland in September 2005
$14,763,254 sold by Meikles in Kawerau in April 2004
$12,053,517 sold by Andrew Spence Pharmacy in Napier in June 2005
$11,482,824 sold by Hokitika New World in November 2002
$9,970,845 sold by Kirbies Candies in Wellington in December 2004.

"It is a really exciting time in the Powerball jackpot cycle, with our million dollar Powerball prize hitting double figures this weekend," says Mr McLeay.

"Powerball can be an unpredictable game, which adds to the excitement as we watch that jackpot climb, knowing it could go this Saturday night," he adds.
