Humour awards Finalists announced...

The judges for the 2007 Business to Business Humour in Business Awards have done their job and the organiser Pat Armitstead is pleased to announce the following people/businesses are finalists. Each are available to discus their entries !

On Tuesday 1st May, an awards ceremony will be held at the Classic Comedy Bar in Queen St, Auckland, and will be opened by the Honourable Lianne Dalziel, MP for Christchurch East, Minister of Commerce, Minister of Women's Affairs, and Minister for Small Business. Barbara Plester, one of the judges will speak on her recent thesis and findings on humour and culture in the workplace. The award entries will be shown to the audience and the winners will be announced for each category. Wade Jackson founder of the Improv Bandits and Greg Ward will provide comedic entertainment.

The event has as its major sponsor the Busines to Business Newspaper and the following businesses have contributed prizes/sponsorship. Rodger Spiller - Money Matters, Richard Gee, Graphic Impact, 42 Below, Coopers Creek Winery,

2007 Comedy Festival. The judges were Wade Jackson and Barbara Plester.

Tony Falkenstein supported the awards but was not in the country to judge this year.

This is the 2nd consecutive year the awards have been run and they are designed to celebrate the notion of being good humoured and the creation of fun and humour in the workplace. This reduces stress and increaes levels of trust, making for more effective communication. One of last years winners, IT Maniacs has gone off shore with her business following last years success with the awards.

Pat Armitstead says " The entries this year are extra-ordinary as they each celebrate from a different view point, bringing their own humour, wit and sense of fun to their work enviroment. We laughed long and loud during the judging and enjoyed seeing the degree to which people had successfully integrated the humour"
