Pop princess Follows In Mum's Footsteps

Pop princess Elle Harris Follows In Her Mother's Footsteps

Gorgeous 17-year-old singer Elle Harris is anything but typical, creating a stir with her debut pop-tastic stormer, "So Typical".

The young singer/songwriter was born into showbiz as the daughter of Menopause the Musical star Angela Ayers and has appeared on television, movies and been a contender in talent quests for years. And yet she's just 17 and a student at Westlake High School.

So impressed were music industry chiefs, she gained funding through the NZ on Air New Recording Artist discovery scheme late last year. Harris had mix engineer David Nicolas (Sting, Bryan Adams) put the finishing touches to the single with Australian songwriters Chartsong.

"So Typical "was mastered at Sydney's Studios 301 by Oscar Goana.

Elle (pronounced Elle-E) is no newcomer when it comes to performing.

In 2004 she had divided loyalties when she sang both the Australian and New Zealand National Anthems at the opening of the Masters Tran-Tasman Games in Takapuna. She won radio station The Edge's talent quest at Botany Downs, was Westlake Pop Idols winner for both 2004 & 2005 and was a finalist on the TV Show Wannabes for that same 2 years screened on TV 2.

Elle has been in great demand with appearances all over Auckland including A Night with the Stars at the Sheraton for Max Marksons International Sporting Events; the Omegatrend Corporate Functions; The Flood Relief Fundraiser at the Regent on Broadway, Palmerston North, the Official Lighting of the Xmas Tree with the Mayor at Manurewa in 2004 and she was a special guest for the Tsunami Charity Dinner held at the Hyatt in February 2005.

In 2005, Elle sang with her mother Angela Ayers at Christmas in the Park.

Elle has also performed leading roles in many schools and local musical theatre productions including Ariel in Westlake High Schools combined production of Footloose (2006), she played Juliet in Westlake High Schools production of Romeo and Juliet (2005) and the female leading role for Auckland Music Theatre's production of Bugsy Malone.

Elle also appeared in the epic movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
