Trump Joins Hunt For Next Kiwi Super Model

Trump Joins Hunt For Next Kiwi Super Model Cadbury Dream Model Search 07

“You’re hired!” will be the words used when Trump hits town mid-year. Trump Model Management New York that is.

In one of its biggest coups yet, New Zealand’s largest modelling competition the Cadbury Dream Model Search has secured a representative from the powerhouse agency as a guest judge for its July 5 final.

A 16-year veteran of the modeling and fashion industries, Trump Model Management’s Director of Scouting and Development Duane Gazi, has spent much of his career criss-crossing the globe in search of the next model superstar.

And if this wasn’t enough to elevate the status of the Kiwi competition, the agency is also offering the Cadbury Dream Model Search winner a one-year contract with Trump Model Management and a roundtrip airfare and accommodation in New York City.

This comes in addition to the prizes already offered to the winner of the Cadbury Dream Model Search which include: representation in New Zealand by Nova Models, Talent & Actors; an all-expenses paid trip to Sydney to meet with top modelling agency Vivien’s Model Management; a test shoot with a top Australian fashion photographer; a $1000 travel scholarship with international manager and model placement agency Michael Hooker International (MHI); a Cadbury Dream chocolate gift basket and flowers; a $1000 Jeanswest wardrobe; and a photo shoot with fashion magazine Lucire.
In addition to being responsible for finding future talent for the agency, Duane says the Trump team pride themselves on remaining selective and committed to the talent that they represent. The agency represents such industry darlings as Vogue regular Lisa Cant and Marc Jacobs and Dolce and Gabbana campaign girl Hye Park, rising stars Ekat Kiseleva and Siri Tollerod, and icons Tatjana Patitz and Isabella Rossellini among many others.

So why is Duane keen to travel all the way to New Zealand to help judge this competition? “The strength and future success of all modeling agencies has always been dependent on finding and developing new talent”, says Duane. “I regularly criss-cross the globe looking for the next potential modelling star.”

“During my previous visit to Auckland I saw many girls with great potential, and feel it’s in our agency's best interest to make Auckland a frequent scouting destination. Being involved in the Cadbury Dream Model Search will ensure we secure representation of new Kiwi stars for the future.”

Duane says the quality and success of previous models from New Zealand and the Cadbury Dream Model Search warrants him flying across the globe to attend. “I’m very excited and looking forward to the event and the future success of the wonderful talent that I hope to find there.” The final will be held in Auckland on Thursday 5 July, with the 12 finalists announced on air on The Edge’s Night Show on Tuesday 29 May. Coverage of the Cadbury Dream Model Search will be televised on C4 in an hour-long show airing the week after the final. Cadbury Dream Model Search is sponsored by Cadbury Dream, Nova Models, Talent & Actors, Jeanswest, C4 and The Edge.
