Currently concerned with doubt stricken spiritual leaders and artists who leave it all behind to become nomadic hunter gatherers, Carran's sculptural practice is characterised by her observations of the world around which she translates into poetic installations that have a sense of optimism blended with meticulous use of materials.

In response to urgent world wide debate surrounding sustainability and environmental decline, Carran light-heartedly explores small possibilities of hope by unifying the good from disparate sources and attempts to encourage discussion about alternatives to our current reality as well as creating a sense of quiet optimism.

Amalgamating elements from spectrums of possibility – recent and archaic systems of sustainable energy production, the contemporary nomadic jet setter, traditional nomadic hunter gatherer, the technologically savvy artist and traditional eco artist – Carran aims to construct a confused modern mythology of the nomad.
