A recital concert featuring award-winning violinist Feng Ning and pianist Michael Houstoun has almost sold out but Auckland audiences have another chance to see the award-winning violinist in action.

Feng Ning is the First Prize winner of the 2005 Michael Hill International Violin Competition and the 2006 Premio Paganini International Violin Competition. He will perform Saint- Saëns’ third violin concerto with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra on Thursday 21 June at a concert aptly called Virtuoso Parade.

“Feng Ning wowed our audiences last year during his winner’s tour and also in recital and people have snapped up tickets to see him perform with Michael Houstoun as part of the APO’s Lion Foundation Twilight Chamber Series,” says APO Chief Executive, Barbara Glaser. “The aptly titled Virtuoso Parade concert in the Auckland Town Hall is another opportunity for people to see this incredibly talented violinist in concert.”

Virtuoso Parade is the seventh in the APO’s 12-concert APN News & Media Premier Series and will be conducted by Emmanuel Joel-Hornak. The programme also includes Satie’s Parade, Schumann’s ‘Spring’ symphony and the world premiere of a new work by the APO’s Composer-in-Residence, Gareth Farr called This Last Pace.

Tickets for the Virtuoso Parade and Feng Ning & Michael Houstoun in Recital concerts are available from Ticketek Ph 09 307 5139, www.ticketek.co.nz.
