A SKYCITY Cinemas movie-goer from Mt Eden, Auckland has won the chance to sail across the seven seas and plunder the shops in Singapore, thanks to a special Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End promotion.

Throughout the promotion, anyone using their Visa card to buy a Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End movie ticket received a free popcorn box with a scratch panel - behind which was the chance to win a $10,000 family trip to Singapore.

And it was a lucky Peter Zhang from Mt Eden who revealed the winning panel on his popcorn box at SKYCITY Cinemas on Broadway, Newmarket.

SKYCITY Cinemas is running a number of movie promotions throughout its winter blockbuster season, that brings some of the most highly-anticipated films to the big screen over the next few months.

"It's an incredible time right now for movie lovers, with what is shaping up to be the best range of Hollywood blockbuster movie titles I've ever seen. Between June and August, SKYCITY Cinemas will showcase Shrek the Third, Oceans 13, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Bourne Ultimatum, Transformers, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Die Hard 4.0 and The Simpsons Movie to name a few," says Matthew Liebmann, SKYCITY Cinemas General Manager.

SKYCITY Cinemas is also making it easy to reserve your seat to the latest blockbusters. Tickets for Transformers will go on sale Thursday, June 14 ahead of the movie opening (June 28); while Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, June 27 before the movie's official opening date of July 11. Customers can simply book online or stop by any SKYCITY Cinema nationwide to secure their seat.

"SKYCITY Cinemas is all about providing our customers with great fun and entertainment. During the winter season, SKYCITY Cinemas customers could win a total 'Shrek' makeover package and one of four 'Fantastic' SKYCITY experiences, as well as movie merchandise and cinema passes," Mr Liebmann says.

Shrek the Third opened at SKYCITY Cinemas last week, and SKYCITY Cinemas Film Squad members can win a fantastic Shrek makeover package including a Nintendo Wii Game Console and Shrek the Third game. To automatically enter the draw, Film Squad members simply need to buy a ticket to see the movie and swipe their Film Squad membership card.

Meanwhile sequel Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer will open at SKYCITY Cinemas on June 21, and movie goers could win one of 80 SKYCITY Cinemas family passes and the chance to win a fantastic SKYCITY ultimate package - including a night at the SKYCITY Hotel and a Sky Jump.
