Looking for the perfect cocktail?

For immediate release 03 July 2007

Looking for the perfect cocktail?

Look no further! Internationally acclaimed mixologist Jason Crawley will be in Auckland during July to demonstrate the fine art of cocktail making.

Maxxium NZ will have Crawley showcasing the history of cocktail making, 10 sec cocktails and new innovations in cocktail making at the Auckland BarShow07 being held at the Alinghi Base in Auckland’s Viaduct Basin on 17 – 18 July.

“We’re really excited to have someone of the Jason’s calibre representing us in NZ at the BarShow. His expertise is second to none and I am sure we are going to see some fabulous cocktail creations throughout the duration of the show,” says Melissa Olsen, Jim Beam Group Brand Manager.

British born Crawley heads up the Maxxium Australia Mixxit team where he delivers comprehensive training into the increasingly complex field of mixology.

“Making great cocktails isn’t difficult as along as you have the right training,” says Crawley.

“The advent of educated, drink savvy and demanding consumers, means serving the right mix every time has never mattered more. We aim to deliver the skills and confidence necessary in the art of creating and promoting cocktails. I’m hoping to pass some of these skills on to the Kiwis!”

Crawley has worked in some of the worlds most fabulous and celebrity studded bars including the Zeta Bar, Sydney Hilton, Ian Schrager Hotel Bars, London and even a stint as personal Bartender to the Danish Royal Family in Copenhagen. He recently designed all the cocktails for the Lovable Lingerie Launch with Jennifer Hawkins in Australia and New Zealand, and also created the cocktails and refreshments for Sydney's 2007 Tropfest Short Film Festival.

With an exceptional level of global expertise and knowledge of mixology garnered throughout his 15-year career Crawley’s credibility with the cocktail industry is illustrated through a diverse portfolio of achievements.

Crawley’s vocational and instinctive affinity with his chosen profession has been clear from the beginning, his career spanning several areas of the industry – from managing high profile bars and clubs across the globe, developing innovative education programs to judging awards and consulting for top on-premise venues. He’s worked at Icebergs Dining in Bondi Beach, the Grand Pacific Blue Room, Paddington Australian, been a freelance writer for Liquid Magazine/Australian Bartender, and Corporate Bar Trainer for Planet Hollywood, London.

Nowadays Crawley won't get out of bed for anything less than a star-studded bash he's more often seen in front of the bar than behind it as his progenies have taken over the day to day bar management.
