George FM Launches New Radio Station

Not content with just two stations in their network, Ponsonby-based radio station George FM has added a third. Be one of the first to check out George FM's brand new online radio station, George Jazz. This brand spanking addition to the George FM family is programmed by George FM's jazz show host and man-about-town, Mark Robinson.

You can stream all flavours of jazz 24 hours a day. George Jazz will be a mixture of playlisting, live hosted shows, and - further down the track - live performances.

George Jazz Programme Director Mark Robinson is thrilled with the new station and its ability to deliver jazz to a global audience. "It's knowing that our specialist shows, like the Kiwi jazz show, can be heard by someone in London, Mumbai or New York, 24/7. It's a great opportunity to get local NZ jazz exposed alongside new jazz artists from around the world."

We've already had great feedback from retail and shop owners who say this is the perfect thing to play day in day out in store, while there's nothing like a bit of jazz bubbling away in the background at home.

George FM Station Manager Jef Kay is excited about the world of online broadcasting, with three stations now available from the George FM website, and more to come. "Net radio is our way of taking the George FM stable of stations to the world, and we see it as the ideal opportunity to connect with lovers of good music from Istanbul to Indiana to Invercargill.
