The final between North Harbour and Auckland proved to be the nail biter everyone expected. With New Zealand number one Brad Chen at the helm North Harbour were the top seed. Brad had to pull out all his skills to fend off an inspired match with John Cordue. The match went down to the wire with Brad coming from behind to clinch victory 14:12 in the 5th set. But it was the doubles that eventually gave Auckland the overall win. The left hand, right hand combination of Simon Wallace and John Cordue proved too dominant for Brad Chen and Bojan Sabo.
