The Migrating Kitchen Saturday Demonstrations
Saturday 11 August, 2pm - 3.30pm.
The Migrating Kitchen exhibition, featuring some of New Zealand's multi- cultural communities, celebrates food, families and festivals. It is an interactive visitor experience for young and old - the chance to step inside our neighbours' kitchens - to hear their stories, taste their food and take away their recipes.
This exciting installation will include Samoan, Greek, Chinese, Somali, Russian and Burmese community stories. It runs for three months in the Bottle Creek Gallery at Pataka and each Saturday afternoon there will be talks and cooking demonstrations where chefs from each community will share their secrets, accompanied by entertainment from local community groups.
This Saturday afternoon, 11 August from 2.00pm to 3.30pm we will have the Greek community displaying their talents and sharing with us some of their tasty secrets.

THE ITINERANT
ARTIST, Revisiting the Paintings of William George Baker.
2pm, Sunday 12 August.
Bob Maysmor is the curator for
The Itinerant Artist, Revisiting the Paintings of William
George Baker. This is the last weekend of The Itinerant
Artist exhibition, so is a fantastic chance to see it one
last time, with the bonus of Bob Maysmor's informative
commentary. The talk provides a valuable insight into,
together with many a delightful story about the exhibition.
Bob tells the stories well and is a delight to listen to.
If you have already enjoyed the show, this is a great
chance to explore the exhibition with Bob and enhance your
original experience.
The talk begins 2.00pm, Sunday 12
August.
