DJ gives back with charity gig
This month, DJ Tim Richards is putting a new spin on his Signature Sounds night at Auckland's Ink bar. All of the proceeds from the $10 door charge will be donated to the humanitarian organisation World Vision.
"I wanted to do something for a charity, and I already sponsor three children in Malawi, Nicaragua and Uganda, so choosing World Vision was as simple as that," he says.
Tim's been running his Signature Sounds night for around three years now, and hosts the George FM radio show of the same name.
The line-up of house, tech house and electro styles will include Ange, A-Spark, Cyril Orson, Daniel Farley, Dick Johnson, Mark Emerson and Paul U – all of whom are giving their time for free.
Tim hopes to get around 400 people through the door over the course of the night and plans to make his charity gig an annual event.
