Penguin poster Judging is complete

Mainland's Yellow-eyed Penguin poster Judging is complete!

The judges on the day

After nearly 3 hours, Mainland's Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust national poster competition judges today decided on 12 winners and 24 runner-ups to be announced at the following events on the 27th October:

Auckland Central City Library - 11am
Christchurch Central Library - 11am
Dunedin City Library - 2pm
Wellington City Library - 2pm

With 1000s of entries received the judging was difficult but Auckland mayoress Diana Hubbard and Mainland Brand Manager, Stephen Buckingham agreed on the high-quality of entries and particularly looked for entries that captured the spirit of the celebration, eye for details, use of all elements on the page and distinction between chicks and adult penguins. Feathers, baubles, and even 'no dogs' signs were placed on some creative entries.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust, and the 18th year Mainland has proudly been a major sponsor.

If you can encourage your readers/viewers to attend the events, and visit the libraries to view the top 20-50 entries on display, that would be great so we can hope the winners will be able to pick up their prizes. If you would like to attend or would like to be sent photographs of the winners, please let me know.
Don't forget to keep supporting the Mainland barcode redemption scheme and help support the great work of the Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust. Save the Yellow-eyed Penguin charts are available free by calling Mainland on 0800 CHEESE (243 373).
