Kiwis grow a 2.3 Kilometre mo

MEDIA release Movember 15, 2007

Kiwis grow a 2.3 Kilometre mo

It’s the middle of the Movember month and the tape measure is out; collectively Kiwi men have grown an estimated 2.3 kilometres of moustache.

This estimate is based on an average growth effort of 10 centimetres per moustache across the face of each of the 23,033 Kiwi men registered to participate via movember.com.

Add the 766 ‘Mo Sistas’; women who support the men in their lives as part of Movember teams all over the country, and total registrations to date are an astonishing 23,799 with well over half a million dollars raised for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand.

PCFNZ spokesperson Chris Jones describes the mid-month results as phenomenal.
“To be halfway through the month with so many Kiwis registered in support of the Prostate Cancer Foundation is phenomenal. Movember has already surpassed our expectations, we’re very grateful to everyone who has registered and to all those who have donated money in support.”

Over the next couple of weeks, Kiwis are urged to pledge dollars online for Movember Mo Bro’s as they enter the hairy phase of styling and shaping their way to the grand finale Galas.

Three official Gala Partès will be held in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch between Movember 28th and Movember 30th. Here thousands of costumed men and women will compete for the coveted Man of Movember and Miss Movember titles.

To register, sponsor or to attend a Gala Partè near you go to www.movember.com. Movember 2007 is proudly grown by official major sponsors; Holden, L&P, Schick, The Rock and Tui.
