Over the next few months, this exceptional teenager will enjoy audiences numbering in their millions. She will join a stellar lineup of stars at Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park in Auckland and the 60th Anniversary Smith City Santa Parade in Christchurch as well as the spectacular Carols by Candlelight in Sydney – one of the state’s biggest annual events.
For the Auckland event, to be held in the Domain on December 8 and expected to draw a crowd of around 200,000, Elizabeth will sing Hark the Herald Angels Sing while in Christchurch on December 2 she will sing three songs before hundreds of thousands of merry-makers lining the street.
Additionally, she will entertain an A-list of Hollywood stars in Hong Kong during jeweler to the stars Michelle Ong’s annual variety gala on December 16. The gala will celebrate the premiere of Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig’s latest blockbuster, The Golden Compass and with stars including Glen Close, Kate Winslett, Dakota Blue Richards and Eva Green known to be on the guest list.
Elizabeth is being hailed as the new singing sensation, and it appears justly so. Only three New Zealanders have had international recording contracts with EMI Classics in the last ten years, Elizabeth being the third and most recent.
Under the astute guidance of Gray Bartlett MBE and NZEA Ltd, whose stable of discoveries include Hayley Westenra, Yulia, Ben Morrison and Will Martin, Elizabeth was presented to EMI (UK) President of Classics and Jazz, Costa Pilavachi, as the face and voice of the future, in cross-over classical-pop.
"Elizabeth Marvelly has the excitement and wide-range of talent to very quickly be a world star," says Bartlett.
“Her abilities range from acting, drama, public speaking through to singing and stage. She is my greatest discovery yet.”

Biography for Elizabeth Marvelly
Elizabeth
Marvelly is a young woman of rare talent: this
eighteen-year-old is being hailed as the new singing
sensation, and it appears justly so. Only three New
Zealanders have had international recording contracts with
EMI Classics in the last ten years, Elizabeth being the
third and most recent.
The beautiful teenager knew from a very young age that she wanted to perform.
Now the schoolgirl from New Zealand is living her dream, inspired by everyone from operatic greats through to All Black heroes.
The talented “popera” singer was hand-picked and moulded by several of New Zealand's most celebrated performers including the man who masterminded the early careers of her international contemporaries Hayley Westenra and Yulia Townsend.
Elizabeth was virtually born into the business, her parents Brett and Vlasta Marvelly innkeepers at Rotorua’s majestic Princess Gate Hotel – a historic boutique hotel built in 1897 and frequented by a who’s who of personalities in their 21 years of ownership. Having started playing piano at age four, Elizabeth has fond memories of jazz great Dr Jazz (Dr Neil McKenzie) staying at the hotel and she sitting on his knee for a jam session on the grand piano.
Over the years, a stream of musicians, entertainers and personalities have made their way to the hotel and have been a valuable resource on which this young performer has been able to grow. Rock bands, musical theatre icons and rugby hero Jonah Lomu have given her inspiration to follow her dreams. She has sung for the Prime Minister and Governor General.
Throughout her young life, Elizabeth has always strove to put her best foot forward in all endeavours.
It was a dedicated girl who at thirteen drove with her father three hours from Rotorua to Auckland every Sunday for singing lessons. This kind of dedication has become a huge part of Elizabeth’s life and has allowed her to follow her dreams of becoming a professional singer to the highest level.
