NZSO Reaches Out In New Year
NZSO Reaches Out In New Year
Next year the NZSO reaches out to new audiences thanks to its "Feel the Seasons Change" tour with Salmonella Dub and guests. Pietari Inkinen makes his mark on 2008, in his first official year as our new Music Director. Our Christmas gift pack solves the gift dilemma for music-lovers by giving the gift of live music, and our open subscription vouchers give audiences flexibility and choice. We meet new education manager Roger Smith, and ex-NYO members, don't forget your celebration is coming up in 2009 - we want to hear from you. Chamber music lovers, check out the Buskaid Soweto String Ensemble's concerts or learn more about them at our seminar.
Rautavaara chooses Inkinen and the NZSO
Inkinen's first concert next year links New Zealand's musical traditions to his own, with Lilburn's classic Aotearoa overture rubbing shoulders with the world premiere for a new piece by Finnish composer Rautavaara.
Pick a concert - any concert!
Can't decide which concerts to attend next year? There's no need to decide now! NZSO Open Subscription Vouchers give you the flexibility to choose right up to the last moment.
Feel the Seasons Change.
The TVNZ Salmonella Dub tour, in association with Pacific Blue and Pub Charity, is called Feel the Seasons Change. Each of the participants is in its way a Kiwi icon; put them all together and they should add up to an entertainment that you could experience nowhere else! Great if you want to explore a little of our own pasifika reggae dub music, or our premiere jazz vocalist in te reo, or just celebrate a bit of Kiwi culture. And also great for friends who already love that music and haven't experienced a live orchestra before.

NYO Alumni

In 2009 we will celebrate this part of our musical history with a reunion - but we need NYO alumni to contact us. Please spread the word among NYO alumni you know, and tell us your name, address, email address, years you played in the NYO, instrument you played, your home town at that time, names of your section or friends in the NYO and any anecdotes or stories you may recall. Send your email to nyo@nzso.co.nz
