Lotto Players Urged to Check Tickets To Make 2008 Great

It's been over two weeks since Lotto's Holiday 100 Promotion was drawn on 29 December and the top prize of $1 million won by a ticket sold in Tairua is still unclaimed, says NZ Lotteries' Chief Executive Todd McLeay.

"The winning $1 million voucher was issued as part of the Lotto Holiday 100 promo, when a player bought a Triple Dip at Tairua Stationers in Tairua," says Mr McLeay.

Anyone who bought a Lotto Triple Dip ticket in Tairua during the promotional period from Sunday 16 December to Saturday 29 December and was issued a voucher should have their voucher checked as they could be the winner.

The voucher number is 936491.

"The Coromandel is a popular holiday spot at this time of year and perhaps the winner is a holiday maker who was passing through Tairua when they bought the ticket," says Mr McLeay.

"This is a fantastic life-changing prize just waiting to be claimed, so we're urging Lotto players all over New Zealand to check their tickets," says Mr McLeay.

100 prizes worth over $4 million in total were given away as part of the Lotto Holiday 100 draw. Two luxury bachs worth $500,000 each were won by vouchers sold Blenheim and Dunedin.

The Dunedin voucher number 197694 was sold at Port Chalmers Hammer Hardware and the winner has yet to come forward.

"It's hard to believe these two Holiday jackpots are still outstanding – it's like leaving presents unwrapped under the tree," says Mr McLeay.

Both prizes must be claimed by 29 December 2008.
