The Food Show 2008 returns to Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland

New Zealand's most popular food and beverage exhibition, The Food Show, is returning to New Zealand’s three largest cities in 2008.

Visitors to The Food Show who love eating, drinking, cooking and entertaining will find all their culinary cravings and sources for inspiration under one roof. Hundreds of local and international exhibitors will be showcasing, sampling and selling innovative food and beverages, as well as associated products and kitchen equipment.

The Food Show in Auckland 2008 sees the Australian-based, French chef Gabriel Gaté joining the line-up of celebrity chefs demonstrating. Formerly of the Loire Valley in France, Gabriel first learned to cook from his grandmother and later served his chef's apprenticeship under Master Chef, Albert Augereau, at 'Jeanne de Laval' in the west of France. Gabriel has lived in Australia for more than 30 years, and is the author of 19 cook books.

Lauraine Jacobs will take to The Food Show stage for the first time in 2008, joining top chefs Ray McVinnie, Peta Mathias, Annabelle White and Julie le Clerc.

Top exhibitors back again in 2008 include Old Fashioned Foods, Whittakers, Hawkes Bay Inc, Barker’s Fine Foods, Charlie’s and Hellers Smallgoods. New exhibitors include Roasted Addiqtion, Aroha Elderflower, New Zealand Seafood and many more.


Dates, times and venues for the three shows include:

Christchurch, 28 – 30 March, 10am to 6pm, Westpac Arena, Jack Hinton Drive.

Wellington, 16 - 18 May, 10am to 6pm, Westpac Stadium, Waterloo Quay.

Auckland, 31 July - 3 August, 10am to 6pm, ASB Showgrounds, 217 Greenlane Road West. There will be a Preview Day for VIPs and die-hard foodies on Thursday 31 July, with only 3000 tickets available for sale to the public.
