Auckland, 27 March 2008 – A taste of the Southern Hemisphere’s ultimate winter party is coming to the Viaduct Harbour tomorrow, and Auckland is invited.

For the first time, the organisers of the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival, selected sponsors and performers are holding a launch party in the City of Sails, the second most important market for the festival.

Tomorrow, (Friday 28 March), Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour will be buzzing, literally, as ice sculptor Victor Cagayat chainsaws his way into blocks of ice and wandering photographers search for Auckland’s biggest posers, with the winners jetting off to Queenstown later in the year.

Organiser Sally Feinerman promises lots of entertainment and prizes. “Queenstown and the festival are all about fun and that’s what we want to bring to the Auckland launch party."

Festival naming sponsor American Express is offering special benefits to its Cardmembers who visit Viaduct Harbour for the party, ranging from complimentary Lindauer to a VIP lounge for Platinum Cardmembers.
