The
award winning extravaganza of circus, dance, comedy and so
much more in a night of fast, physical, bawdy and above all,
sublimely entertaining cabaret. Pleasure, sexiness, lashings
of comedy; fast, playful, exceedingly physical, and highly
entertaining aerial acts! Divine singing, dance & clever
cabaret combined by the seamless magic of your very own host
the loveable, unflappable, king of kiwi comedy; Vinyl
Burns.
Heavenly Burlesque, ladies and gentlemen showcases short acts where beauty and glamour go hand in hand with gravity defying circus and anarchic humor. Be tempted into a world of splendor and excess. Don your most luscious outfit to mingle with the heavenly creatures. From the moment you arrive you will be lured into a world of unexpected surprises, farce and more than a sprinkling of naughtiness.
“Cirque du Soleil for the naughtier
audience” – Helen King
“…there is much to applaud
in this production of entertaining acts under the over-all

Best Theatre Award - Wellington fringe 2006
Best of the Fringe – Wellington fringe 2006
“There’s no doubt Heavenly Burlesque is a
hit of the fringe. Last night the Paramount foyer was packed
by punters happy to be primed by roving performers – a
farmer and his dog, a crop-wielding dominatrix, weird people
in exotic garb – if not exactly to ‘Shut up!’, as
exhorted by one, to listen to set pieces like Dreamscape’s
‘Restaurant’ sketch or songs from blue-haired soprano
Barbie and blonde mezzo soprano-with a squeeze-box
Ashlyn.
By the time they fill the theatre the punters are
ready to rock…”
1. John Smythe: NBR
“ The real
strength of Heavenly Burlesque was its pace. One act drifted
seamlessly into another and there was absolutely no waiting
around. If the stage needed to be changed other parts of the
auditorium, such as the audience, were used flawlessly.
There was not a second in which any audience member,
especially one with an alarmingly shot attention span like
mine, could get bored…
Needless to say, I enjoyed the
show, a lot. It was fun, sexy and highly polished. Unlike a
number of similar shows it worked, spectacularly. It changes
every night but it promises to remain bloody good. It went
off and I will certainly be going again, and again.”
- Jules Van Cruysen: Salient Magazine
“…there is much to applaud in this production of entertaining acts under the over-all direction of Tom Beauchamp…highly enjoyable entertainment…”
