Air NZ Fashion Week Announces Internal Restructure

Air New Zealand Fashion Week (ANZFW) has today announced its new PR team for 2008.

Managing Director Pieter Stewart, says the continued growth of media attention in ANZFW has led to the appointment of an in-house public relations consultant to respond to the numerous media inquiries.

Anna Jobsz will work from the fashion week offices several days each week, with Cathy Campbell Communications consulting to the account and running the media centre at the time of the event.

Impact PR who worked with ANZFW last year says this is an excellent move for the brand and joins Pieter Stewart in welcoming Anna to the role.

Impact PR’s Director Fleur Revell-Devlin said it was a difficult decision: “ANZFW 2007 has been labelled the best ever by media and having generated media coverage in excess of $50 million we feel the brand will continue to strengthen its position as New Zealand’s best loved fashion event in 2008. Impact PR’s commitment to its current client portfolio is such that we are unable to devote the significant resources required for this project in 2008”.

Anna runs Anna Jobsz PR & Events, a Public Relations and Events company which also consults to other accounts such as AUT University, Green Carbon, Groove in the Park, Rhythm & Vines, Style Christchurch and the Auckland International Boat Show. “I’m excited to move into the role of Public Relations Manager for Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2008 and I hope that being on site at the Fashion Week office will further support Pieter and her team to effectively manage publicity and PR initiatives,” says Anna Jobsz.

Now in its eight year, Air New Zealand Fashion Week is the country’s premier event for designers providing them an opportunity to showcase their talents on an international stage with the ultimate aim to export their designs.

Air New Zealand Fashion Week also welcomes Christine Kitching as Administrative Assistant to team, replacing Raquel Simpson who has been with us for the last three years, and has left to do her big OE – we wish her safe travels and lots of fun.
Stewart says plans are well underway for the Autumn/Winter collections and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever.

“More than 200 national and international media attended the event last year which shows you the scale and respect that is afforded Air New Zealand Fashion Week. Every year we are heartened by the enthusiastic response we get from the press.”

The popular public event Air New Zealand Fashion Weekend has been moved to two weekend days to cope with the increasing number of Kiwis showing interest in the event.

Air New Zealand Fashion Week is set to take place from Tuesday 16thSeptember, to Friday 19th September. Air New Zealand Fashion Weekend will open its doors to the public on Saturday 20th September and Sunday 21st of September.
