Celebrate the unique camaraderie between Australia and New Zealand and enjoy the very best in Australian cuisine and entertainment at the Spirit of Mateship Gala Dinner, to be held as part of G’Day NZ Australia Week 2008 on Wednesday 30 April 2008 at the Logan Campbell Centre, ASB Showgrounds, Auckland.

The black-tie event, with John Campbell and Carol Hirschfeld as MCs, will feature fantastic entertainment including: former Little River Band lead singer Glen Shorrock; Australian singer Christine Anu (known for hits such as ‘My Island Home’); rising New Zealand star Elizabeth Marvelly; and the seven piece Aboriginal performance group Descendance.

Savour fine Australian flavours with a sumptuous five-course dinner designed by renowned Australian chef Vic Cherikoff and complemented perfectly by premium wines from Penfolds, Australia’s leading winemaker. The menu will include exotic dishes such as: sugarcane prawns marinated with Rainforest lime splash; Wildfire infused (Bluegum smoked) salmon; and white chocolate and Wattleseed mousse with Kakadu plum jelly, quandong and apricot confit.

The evening will culminate in the presentation of the third annual Spirit of Mateship Award which is presented to Kiwi and Australian individuals whose actions are an outstanding example of our countries’ historic friendship, and continued support of the other.
