No sex please we’re Aucklanders

Perhaps it’s the time of year, when humour around billboard slogans is lacking, but whatever the reason, entries for BIG smiles little moments billboard competition have been slow this April. Julia Durkin, Auckland Festival of Photography Director says “Who needs longer lasting sex? If you don’t like particular billboards or some of their slogans this is your chance to create your own. So get snapping smiles on the faces around the CBD and capture your billboard winning shot.”

All participants have to do is take a photograph of ‘BIG smiles little moments’ in the CBD and submit it before 30 April 2008. The winning photograph will be featured on a billboard in the heart of the city. All images must be taken in the Heart of Auckland’s CBD to reflect the theme ‘BIG smiles little moments’. One winning photograph as judged by Metro and Heart of the City will appear on a billboard and in Metro magazine.

There is also the opportunity for the public to view and vote on-line at the Festival’s official website for their favourite BIG smiles little moments in the Heart of Auckland City photograph.

The winning PEOPLES CHOICE photographer judged by the public will receive a $100 camera and camera gift voucher and a year’s subscription to Metro magazine.

An exhibition of the top 10 photographs and the winner of the Billboard competition will be held along Lorne St from 1 June in the shop windows of participating retailers.
