Farm fashion and fantastic fur

Farm fashion, fantastic fur and mesmerizing models all in demand
Early entries into the Fieldays Ag Art Wear and Possum Fur Fashion Design Award competitions have impressed event organisers, who are looking for even more creations to make Fieldays’ 40th anniversary event one to remember.
Both competitions, featured in high-profile, professionally choreographed shows every day at Fieldays, attract plenty of attention and offer substantial cash prizes.
Ag Art Wear challenges designers and artists to create wearable art from materials found on the farm. Past entries have included creations made of eartags, frost cloth, silage wrap, feathers, hide, bone and more. Entries are classified into Avant Garde, where art trumps fashion every time, designer, comprised of more traditional clothing-based entries, young designer, for under 21’s and Landcare, in which entrants are challenged to use only natural and untreated products.
The Possum Fur Fashion Design Awards make use of New Zealand’s nocturnal nuisance, resulting in commercial quality garments that are wonderfully soft, warm and creative. Possum fur has been stitched into jackets and hats, tanned and used for fashion trousers and even felted into hats.
Finalist entries are
beautifully showcased on the runway at Fieldays, and this
year, the hunt is on for additional models to show them off.
If you are self-confident, work well in a team, have some
modeling experience and enjoy a challenge, you could be part
of the fun at Fieldays 2008. Both male and female models
are required for the four days of Fieldays, 11-14 June 2008,
so if you fit the bill contact Caz Wood for further details.
