Support the Warriors with Lion Red and the Mad Butcher

Lion Red is excited to announce the launch of Madtastic; the new Lion Red talking figurine based on the very lively personality and character of Peter Leitch aka “The Mad Butcher”.

Madtastic is a caricature designed to sit on top of a Lion Red can and is loaded with a sound chip containing over 35 unique Mad Butcher-inspired phrases; “I’d love a red mate”, “Can’t wait for the league to start” and of course, “G’day it’s your old mate the Mad Butcher!” as well as heckling the opposition!

The innovative Madtastic technology works off a time integrated circuit board within the figurine set to eastern standard time, this means the Madtastic figurine knows exactly when to speak up and show his support for the Vodafone Warriors, activating with relevant comments leading up to and during each Warriors game

“Lion Red has always had a strong association with the Warriors and rugby league, Madtastic is an opportunity for us to reinforce this association, whilst having a bit of fun,” says Lion Red Marketing Manager, Russell King.

“We think the Mad Butcher personifies the passion for rugby league in NZ, he was the perfect man to immortalise with the Madtastic figurine. The figurine has given us a unique opportunity to link the Vodafone Warriors with their biggest supporters, the Mad Butcher and Lion Red,” says King.

Off the back of a successful summer at the Beach and Boat, Snapper Classic and the Hamilton 400, Lion Red is excited to be bringing this fantastic innovative technology to the New Zealand market, providing consumers, for the first time, with a unique way to further enjoy each Warriors game.
“Rugby League is a huge passion of mine and I’m thrilled to be involved in this unique opportunity,” says Peter ‘Mad Butcher’ Leitch.
