Peace Award Recipient to Give Free Public Talk

recipient and leader of an emerging new spirituality, Dr Pir
Zia Inayat Khan, will be in Auckland for the first time this
month.
The Head of the International Sufi Order and U Thant peace awardee lived and studied with the Dali Lama at just 14 years old and holds a PhD in Religion from Duke University, USA.
Dr Khan, who was raised in the USA, is currently bringing together spiritual leaders from the Abrahamic traditions (Jewish, Christian and Islamic faiths) to deepen understanding and knowledge so that the people of these traditions can move forward in unity. He is also actively working in collaboration with other scholars and scientific leaders in the development of Green Hermeticism which is a way of understanding the environment through a combination of alchemy, spirituality and science.
Dr Khan speaks to the simple need for compassion, tolerance and understanding between the diverse peoples of our global community and the importance of this in the lives of individual human beings.
He will give a public talk at St Barnabas Church in Mt Eden on 19th June from 7-9pm.
