Toi Whakataa in conjunction with Solander Gallery presents Rising Stars - Nga Whetu Whitinga
Coinciding with Matariki, this exhibition showcases recent work by seven women from Toi Whakataa / the Maori Printers Collective: Alexis Neal, Gabrielle Belz, Sam Farquhar, Ruth Green Cole, Cerisse Palalagi, Natalie Couch and Vanessa Edwards. 'Rising Stars' reflects the participating artists' dedication to furthering printmaking and commitment to producing art, while also referencing the seven sister stars in the Matariki constellation.
Toi Whakataa is a group established to nurture and support Maori printmaking in Aotearoa with members based in varying places around the country.
