The New Zealand bar awards is set to light up Auckland on Wednesday, 6 August at the Ballroom of the Hilton Hotel at the picturesque Princes Wharf.

Presented by New Zealand Bartender magazine, the New Zealand bar awards is the only awards ceremony dedicated to New Zealand’s bar and bartending industry and recognises the hard work of bar professionals over the last year. The gala dinner event will be held on the second night of Auckland BarShow, the leading tradeshow for the business of bars, held at Alinghi Base on 5 & 6 August.

There will be a total of 15 awards presented over the evening, covering a broad spectrum of excellence. Awards handed out on the night include classics such as Bar of the Year, Cocktail Bar of the Year and Pub of the Year, as well as some prizes for individual excellence including Operator of the Year, Bar Manager of the Year and of course, the highly anticipated New Zealand Bartender Magazine Bartender of the Year.

Once again, more than 70 of New Zealand’s top bartenders will compete at Auckland BarShow for the prestigious honour of being named New Zealand Bartender magazine’s Bartender of the Year. The winner will also score a trip to Sydney to be a VIP guest at Sydney BarShow in September, including a guest judge spot for the Australian Bartender Magazine Bartender of the Year competition.

The attached PDF includes all of the finalists in each category. These leading venues have been selected from thousands of trade votes submitted from all around New Zealand. The winners will be determined by a combination of these trade votes and a panel of industry professionals, who will cast their final votes in July.
