While you might be battening down the hatches against the wild windy weather, at ROAR! we’re celebrating the turbulent storminess as it whisks up a duet of solo shows from a well seasoned Art Director and a local Art Therapist.

Michael Cox’s ‘WINDSCAPES: Kinetic Weather Report’ and Miranda Munro’s ‘May As Well Smile’ both display a sense of beauty and kindness in an exciting fantasy of colour and movement.

For Michael, Wellington has been a wonderful city to experience the natural atmospheric joys of a windy climate. Enjoying the unusual sunsets and the exhilaration of a sunny day, Michael captures in his paintings the dusky colours and breezy moments of the bright blue beyond. This city, with its notoriously wild wind has been a great inspiration for “an artist windswept and worn from many years of hill climbing!”

Miranda’s intention is to make people smile. Her self taught and intuitive approach to painting and collage reveals an exciting mix of colour, pattern and form. Believing in the importance of surrounding yourself with beautiful things, Miranda furnishes the gallery with several lively and vibrant pieces.

So if you love bold, bright and lyrical colour - these shows are bound to bring you joy. Come along at 5.30pm on Thursday 26th June to help us celebrate both Miranda’s and Michael’s unique observations and reflections on their world and windy city.
