Outrageous Fortune star in
outrageously
brilliant show!
AFTER sell-out performances and standing ovations, television personality Shane Cortese is set to have audiences jumping in their seats to the “stonking” sounds of his rock ‘n roll show.
The actor who’s voice has won critical acclaim not only from New Zealand audiences but those on the West End as Elvis, Ricky Nelson and Ritchie Valens, will take his ‘50s Jukebox Tour on the road in September.
The ‘50s Jukebox Tour, featuring Chet O’Connell and a rockin’ six-piece Class of ’58 band, will begin in Whangarei and travel through to the South Island for the very first time.
Songs include a huge version of Roll Over Beethoven, featuring numerous Beethoven symphonies, and a 20-minute tribute to the king of rock n’ roll Elvis that has left audiences crying.
‘He’s not
just an actor who
thinks he can sing’
Shane and his big band will tell his story through music, tracking his life from Sun Recording Studios through the movie years, the ‘68 comeback special and Vegas before his untimely death in 1977.
The suave actor and his band stage a tight, fast-moving, upbeat, bright show that revives the magic of Buddy Holly, Del Shannon, Eddie Cochrane, Roy Orbison, Ricky Nelson and Gene Vincent.
“Close your eyes and you’d think Elvis had re-entered the room. He is that good”—Sunday News.

SHANE CORTESE
Lead singer Shane Cortese became a household name for his portrayal of murderous and evil Dominic Thompson on Shortland Street and later a finalist on Dancing with the Stars. More recently, he has morphed into the shaggadelic Hayden Peters on Outrageous Fortune. What many people have discovered in the past few years is Shane has an outstanding pedigree in live rock ‘n’ roll music, having made a name for himself in London’s West End playing Elvis in Elvis the Musical, Ricky Nelson in Rock ‘n’ Roll Heaven, Ritchie Valens in Buddy, Pharoah in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Rocky in The New Rocky Horror Show.
