NZ Gaming Expo moves to Christchurch for 2009

MEDIA RELEASE

29 July 2008: for immediate release

NZ Gaming Expo moves to Christchurch for 2009

The New Zealand Gaming Expo will be held at the Christchurch Convention Centre in 2009 according to the Australasian Gaming Machine Manufacturers Association (“AGMMA”).

“After 3 successful annual events in Auckland, our Board felt that the time is now right to shift the focus for this national Expo to another major centre in New Zealand” said AGMMA’s Chief Executive Officer, Ross Ferrar. “The Christchurch Convention Centre is a superb facility for this type of event and is supplemented by great accommodation and hospitality facilities nearby.

“The last few Gaming Expos have showcased the best available equipment at top-drawer trade exhibitions, along with Gaming Conferences addressed by memorable presenters who really left their mark on the audience.

“And as a special bonus for New Zealand’s gaming executives, entry to the conference as well as the exhibition will be complimentary for bona fide representatives of Gaming Industry Organisations.

“Planning is already well under way and we’re pleased to announce that long-time rugby rivals – Eric Rush and Peter FitzSimons – have accepted our invitation to speak at the Conference.

Eric Rush, former All-Black, current Rugby Sevens captain, barrister and businessman is also a very entertaining and motivational speaker in his own right. He talks about the parallels of coaching for excellence, in business and sport.

Peter FitzSimons played 7 Tests for the Wallabies. He is a well respected newspaper columnist, television presenter on Fox Sports, speaks four languages, has co-hosted several radio shows, interviewed famous people around the globe from George Bush to Diego Maradona and written eighteen best-selling books.

The Gaming Conference will operate from 9am on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd April; and the trade exhibition will be open from 12 noon until 5 pm on both days.
